I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working with people for twenty years. I love what I do and am passionate about providing clients with the tools they need to have the best lives possible. My style is direct, engaging, and creates space for people to learn and grow.
I have been working in the counseling and public health fields for the last 25 years, primarily in health care settings and with traumatized and marginalized populations. These experiences have taught me about people's capacity to be resilient in the midst of overwhelming obstacles.
I understand the tangible desire we all have to be the best we can be, whether in relationship with others or individually. I feel very honored to do this type of work and to be able to help people make the changes they seek.
My psychotherapy practice is eclectic and is significantly informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, and motivational interviewing. I am also intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
On a more personal note, I have lived in Atlanta since 2006. I love music, all kinds of performing and visual arts, hiking, camping, fiction, food, cooking, and travel.
